That's only for Google forum, as it is the only one I see.

I give my congratulations to Digital Point, cause he has been able to make this forum so big and crowded. These forum's are good. But I think it's too crowded now. i'm really tired of stupid topics like "why Google does not show all links in link:?" I know people must learn, but these are tiring topics for us. I would suggest a beginners forum, so SEOs could speak better and the begginers learn.

    That's only what I think

I agree that it's a bit annoying, but if you start breaking up the forums to beginner/advanced, do you really think people will follow those guidelines? It's hard enough to get people to post in the right forum as it is. :)

I understadn you, cause I have the same problem, but using a SEO begginers forum I think has been very good for me, and it would for you.

The other problem is that beginners will tend to post in regular forums rather than a beginners' forum because they want answers from more experienced members, not from other beginners, and there is a perception (perhaps correct) that the only people who will spend time in a beginners forum would be other beginners.

Could be. Maybe another solution could be open some FAQs. But I think the Google forum, as is now, have lost a lot of quality.

there is a FAQ, but no one's going to sit there and read it to people.

Hi guys, I saw a great solution at a dutch motorcycle forum.
There is one big beginner division were everyone can post there questions.
But the normal / main forums are only accessible for users that are registered for more than 3 weeks (new users can read them but not post inside them).

This should give them the time to use the search and learn more without starting useless topics..

Why is this remedy even needed?

If someone asks a question that has been asked before, you have the choice of (1) ignoring the question, or (2) providing a link to the older thread with the answer.

Let's be honest: the search functions on forums like vBulletin or phpBB leave something to be desired, even for experienced forum members. I can imagine that newcomers to forums might have trouble finding the information they seek. Indeed, how often do you see posts beginning "I expect this has been answered before but I couldn't find any information addressing the question"?

Instead of starting a new thread figured I'd hijack this one...

#1 as it's been brought up before especially since some have such a hi opinion of post count a game subforum for posts to be discounted. I know I shouldn't have as many posts as it shows on my user name.

#2 Any chance of a computer/hardware help subforum? Even if it's off of GC, with no rep count or post counts? I am not an expert, I've helped a few so far though, and would respond to more but rarely can find them. I realise a few problems with this so if you can't I understand, #1 being will the user post to the correct area, and #2 would you get bombed with everyone asking q's even if they aren't apart of the forum, so underground perhaps?

Thank you for your time :D sorry for the hijack.
