Beginner who wants to get into internet marketing, looking for advice

I've looking into internet marketing for a while. I want to make money of course, but I do like the concept of marketing, it looks interesting to me. I just don't know where to begin.

What I do know is that I want to do mostly freelance work, like working as a SEO, etc. I am intrested in social media marketing, but I don't know much about it. I think I'd do good with web design, since I like that kind of stuff.

Also, how do you get paid as a marketer? And how do you receive the money, via Paypal, or what(Stupid question, I know)

And if it has anything to do with it, I live in the United States. I'm also 15 years old. Young, but I need to save for college, and marketing looks like an ideal way to earn money.Thanks.

You may find that the terms of many of the programs you will be interested in will require you to be 18 and old enough to legally enter into a contract. You still can, of course, but then if you are outed you risk losing your account and any funds in it. I'm sure you'll be aware that your home country is extremely litigious and that fine print matter.

Talk over your plans with your parents, you'll need their support.

    Thanks for your response.

This is why I want to do freelance work. Making my own website, doing marketing myself.

On a side note, I don't know much about contracting/legality type stuff, so I'll have do some research.

I would start with freelance work to build capital and then you can vest your money into programs that can help automate whatever you are trying to do like seo, emailing, etc.

You mentioned doing SEO freelancing; if you’re considering doing this, your first port of call should be Sean Ogle’s post ‘How to become an SEO freelancer in 48 hours’ at Sean Ogle dot com (I can’t provide the link because the DPF system won’t let me). It’s a FANTASTIC overview of the subject and absolutely choc full of links and resources. If you want to get into SEO - to provide a service, or for yourself - it’s absolutely essential reading.

    Best of luck.

Start with fiverr.com. Go now and familiarize with the website.

You said you can do graphic design, social media and etc, so fiverr.com will be your best choice.
You will get paid to Paypal.

Post as many gigs as you can offering services you are good at.

    good luck!

i have started my internet marketing journey, when i was 15 (exactly like you), now i'm 23 years old, and since then i'm a full-time internet marketer with 8 years of experience
if you want to start, just do these steps:

1- find someone from your family (More Trusted), like your parent, brother, sister, or even uncle. (anyone you trust have at least 18 years old)
2- go to: blogger.com and make a new FREE blog, with posts, and promote it anywhere in the web, such as twitter, facebook, youtube, answers sites, blogs comments.
3- sign up with google adsense and affiliate networks (ex. clickbank, cj )
simply sign up with (your trusted person information)
4- learn more and take action to make money through your blog
5- if you have any question don't wait to post it here in digital point forums to get honest replies

    to your success

    1. I assume you have to have a parent to back you up for legal reasons? Why exactly must you do that?

    2. What could I make my site about? A personal blog, product reviews, or what? Could it have information such as unique news stories or flash games? What about copyrighted material, such as a guide to a video game?

first of all you made a good decision signing up to this forum it will be a great help for you. second of all, you need to gain some experience at marketing so basically try to make something on your own and start marketing it like some type of website or blog. blog is usually easier cause all you need to do is keep updating content, you will learn a lot from doing so :)

i made my first bit of money with the yahoo sharing program, it was a fair while ago and i forget the name of it now. It didnt make me rich or anything like that but it was certainly a good basis to start from as yahoo does give you pretty good guidance. Have a quick search there you should find it pretty quick

    1. yes of course for legal reasons, because the policy of any legal company will be contain of a rule about the age must be more than 18 years old

    2. decide what's the way you need to get your income from your site,
there are major ways to profit from your website, but as starter, you need to know the easiest 2 ways to make money from your site:

way #1: (PPC or pay per click advertisements) display advertisements in your website and gain profits when some-one click on the ads,

if you need to profit from that way, you need to build a website contain of unique information about anything, any niche, and this is the best way to profit from your free contents on your website.

best company from my experience : Google Adsense

way #2: (affiliate marketing) promote products and gain commissions when some one buy that products,

if you need to profit from that way, you need to build a website contain of pre-selling, or honest reviews, or coupons for the products you're promote.

best company from my experience :

    for digital products: ClickBank
for anything else: Commission Junction, Link Share

what if you want to profit with the two ways,
i have one answer for that question:

build very specific website about one product, place adsense and promote affiliate product at the same time, do some SEO, drive traffic, and don't forget doing social marketing

Learn, Take Action, and Make Money

    to your success

One thing you can do as a beginner trying to get into IM is to find sites that are doing what you would like to emulate, and see if you can find out where they are getting their backlinks, e.t.c from

I personally think that blogging about anything that you think you like writing about that you think other people would be interested would be a great start. Try to find a specific interest so you can create a niche, then look for affiliate programs that match your niche. Link to them. Pretty simple process all in all. Or so it seems....

    Try to read some ebooks..
although you need to pay for it, but there are ways to get it for free..
And buy it when u really love the ebooks...
Contents in ebooks are much more systematic then website's contents..

As others have pointed out your age is going to be an issue.

As you have plenty of time ahead of you if I was you I would do the following.

Choose ONE subject that you are very passionate about. Use the Google Keyword Tool to see if there are many other people searching on the same topic.

Look to see if there is an affiliate product that you could promote with this product. Such as piece of software or a clickbank product.

Then spend the next couple of years producing the single best website in that particular niche. Completely dominate the niche. And monetise through your affiliate product. Possibly at some point create your own eBook.

Also set up an autoresponder using either Aweber or Mail chimp straight away and start collecting emails.

Developing an email list is one the best things you can do in Internet Marketing.

Take your time and develop a killer site, worry about making money later.

Worst possible thing you can do - become a money chaser trying out every new scheme, building a million web sites that never go anywhere etc
