    Hi guys,

Im just starting so do you have any basics on how to build up a site with lots of users, just concentrating on seo... i know about the content...

Also i have a question about templates... will they be harmful if i post using the same description words all the time? i dont think so...

What are your best tips on submitting links? I mean examples like forums, directories... which ones are the most efficient? ;) ( i know with the high pr sites but there is little chance for them to add me i guess since my pr is 0)

Also i have a question about having lots of images with the same alt tag (is this gonna affect me negatively or its not a problem) and if i have h1 tag that is resized... any experience on this? Any tips well welcomed =)

    Thanks ^^

If you have lots of images with the same alt tag it is possible for google to take this as keyword stuffing, as for the descriptions is always better to have few variatons not always the same.

I agree that article marketing is one of the most effective strategies that you can use.

For 'description words' are you referring to the description meta tag? If so, you do want a unique meta description on every page. If you use the same meta description on more than one page, Google Webmaster Tools will give a warning.

How many images have the same alt tag? This could push your keyword density over the acceptable limit. I would be tempted to vary those alt tags a bit.

I don't think it is a problem to resize headers. Search engines can't be bothered to go back and forth with css to determine what font size something actually is. I would still make it look like a header though. They might not like you making a h1 look exactly the same as regular text.

suganindia: don't bother with such unhelpful advice. Instead of just telling this person to read the dp forums, why don't you actually try to help him too?

Hi, thanks a lot for the suggestions. =)

After getting my site to a certain level of backlinks i will try to go with article marketing =) Any more suggestions on this?

As for the images, there are around 10 images on a page with the same alt tags, the thing is that these come from a template that i created, but i could make them more versatle i guess, i could append them with the item name or just use the name there, i guess it is better to be safe than sorry =)

Oh and i made the h1 header look very small like 10pixels small font.. wonder if that is okay or i should be careful... also my page color is white but i use black gradient for the background, however i wonder if google will consider that as hidden text... its in the table header so i might just add the black background just to be sure... its better to set it in html than css right? since google bots i guess can see html better than css

Also, if you have any other tips they would be very welcome, especially since i am a beginner so kind of new to this world of seo so do not know all the in's and out's of the seo thing ^^

    Thanks a lot everyone ^^

you should use unique names/descriptions for every article. Otherwise google may think they are duplicated.

Free would be places like ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com and etc..

The most efficient paid would be Linkvana, that's what pros swear by. However you should definitely have everything in place and ready to make sales because Linkvana is not exactly cheap (about $150/month)

However I know a guy who has a membership and does submissions for you for like $5 for a few quality links. (a great deal if you ask me)

If this is something you'd be interested in I might be able to hook you up, if I can still find him on the forum where he usually hangs out...

Forum signature is one of the best way to gain backlinks. Although it's unlikely to be relevant, but you get benefit in terms of PR.
