I recently launched my first Clickbank product (link is my signature) after earning as an affiliate for a year. I was earning through blogging/article marketing. I posted my pitch page here on DP a couple of weeks ago, and the general consensus was that it was a good looking sales page. I think the affiliate materials are also adequate - There are banners/ review site-landing pages, and I am in the process of putting up the better keywords from Adwords. I was interested in having a video put together, and offered $150 to an affiliate who can produce the best video. It's time to go about recruiting affiliates. I posted details of a contest on DP, but the milestones were too high for such a small product (1000 dollars/40 sales). I got the message and changed the details. I'm offering 100% commissions for the entire first month for anyone who can pull in 5 sales. No affiliates have brought in sales yet, and the traffic sent so far has been pretty erratic. I'm looking for ways to recruit serious affiliates or even a couple of sales a day would be nice for my 1st product. I've been looking into a couple of options: 1. I've been looking to get email marketers to send out mass emails about my product. It sells for $30 and these affiliates would be earning a 100 percent commission for the first month. I posted on warrior forums with little results, and I'm not sure how else I can establish contacts with affiliates with lists. Any suggestions would be appreciated. 2. Paid blog reviews: I think positive reviews on the main "make money online" blogs can do a lot for my product. The traffic should be steady and is targeted. 3. In the same line, I was thinking about paid links on the main blogs. On the top blogs, I can expect something like 30-40 clicks a day which could mean 2-5 sales a week 4. Advertise on the Clickbank sites: Affiliates search these sites, and they'll come across my product. Still, I'm not so sure how much this will help me since I've been receiving plenty of hops from affiliates from cbengine and cbanalytics which is clearly from affiliates and still no real affiliates have hopped aboard. 5. Continue PPC campaigns. The sales are not bad, and it will produce real evidence for affiliates that the product sells, which in the end of the day is what affiliates want. If anyone has practical tips that could help me, I'd really appreciate any help. I acknowledge that I might have become a publisher too-soon, but would still appreciate any constructive criticism.
Hey there, A technique that I have started using is by doing a Google search for "[niche] forum" and "[niche] ezine" and then contacting site owners inviting them to join my affiliate program to promote my product to their ezine and member lists.
Hey bud, nice post and nice product, sales page, affiliate tools etc. - can see you're serious. Here are my thoughts: Raise your price. My health products start from $37 but make money products generally start much higher. I would say a minimum of $47. People won't promote a product that is too cheap and $30 is way too cheap. My personal feeling is that the 100% commission on first sale ploy that I see many do here is not necessary. What matters is long term commission and 75% is enough. Getting onto lists in the non-IM world is a matter of finding lists and emailing the owner. In the IM world, it is more about your existing relationships in the "IM world". Definitely you are on the right track on forums like Warrior Forum. Try to post there more often and become "known", use your real name or a pen name and use an avatar of a person (if not yourself). Here's an idea that I am using having created my first IM product: sell it for a special price as a WSO. Inside the ebook, have a link to a list sign-up for JV commission. When I release the product, I'm going to give JV guys a 75% commission. I'll give everyone else 50-60% (in IM world, 75% commission generally is not expected, you can give less). Now I have a small list of people waiting for me to launch to everyone else. paid blog reviews, never done em. Would love to hear your results. You can try clickbanksuccessforum.com text ads. I have heard good things about them. I am currently trying ads myself. Problem is I have no idea how much effect they are having. Conversion results are great. You can quote these when you contact potential affiliates. Are yours profitable? Not everyone is good at PPC (especially getting cheap clicks). I always suck at PPC personally. Also, check out my other thread here: My Clickbank VENDOR diary - Recruiting Affiliates
Thanks for this post - I'll go through point by point 1. I have raised the price to $47 and hopefully that will get more affiliates on board 2. I agree. I am interested in long term over short term. But in order to get people to stick with you long term, you need to motivate them to get their first few sales. That's where the 100% commission idea came from 3. I hear you. I'm trying to get into the internet marketing world, but it seems like it is all about the connections. Once you're in though, it looks golden. 4. I think paid blog reviews are a creative idea. I'll post the results 5. The conversions are decent. Nothing special though - I'll keep them going and will use them to show to affiliates. I've been keeping up with your other thread, lots of useful info - good luck with your product rolf
That's creative. I started doing that with blogs (searching for relevant blogs that could promote my product) , and I guess forums/ezine are a good addition to that.
Whoop Whoop! Congrats! There is no feeling better than the one you get after your first sale. May there be many more
