beginner direction - music niche

I've been reading up on doing IM for a few months now. I've thought up a website that I have been wanting to do for a while. It's a niche in music that seems to get decent hits on google. No one really has a site that I have thought up of yet, there are some out there but not really geared towards my generation (late teens - early adults). I am looking to become an affiliate of iTunes or somewhere else similar.

I am really eager to get this thing going, I find a lot of my time trying to figure out how to build website, html, and css ect. However I found Weebly in which I made a website in like an hour. I really liked it due to the easiness of it a, however is this kind of cheesy to use for a somewhat professional site. Also how does the keywords and SEO settings/options work out for this website and what can be done to help out SEO.

I haven't bought a domain name yet because I think I get too distracted with other niches that kinda flow into this one. I dont want to name my website specific to the particular subject I am doing then have maybe one of the other niche's do better. Should I stick to one niche and only that niche, or just have a main niche and then maybe add some other things and not focus so much on it.

I've got a lot more questions, I can't think of just because I am asking it right now, so I will try to thnk of some more and jott them down. Also I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense, maybe I can clarify if no one understands. Basically I am looking just for some guidance/direction. Mainly I am doing this as a hobby, it is something that if I do the research it will be benefiting me without creating a website, not specifically making money off of it. Thanks

your brain seems a bit scattered. just focus on 1 project at a time until its complete. a lot of people dont get things done because they have too much on their plate. anyways, u need to buy a domain and host it yourself. free host sites can be used to get aff. income, but its not optimal since u cant optimize the look and feel. do keyword research and focus on multiple long tail keywords, hire someone to build a site, do on page seo, build links with your keywords as anchor text.

I'm definitely going to get domain and hosting. I am just using weebly as a website builder.

Anyone know of a different website designer, I don't mind learning some of the css and html, I just want a decent template.

Thanks for the info, will focus on the main idea right now and incorporate the others as it comes. Question though, when I do add, majority of it will just be informational type of stuff. This may be were I add my adsense, instead of on my main aff. page. Getting to the question, should I create a completely different website or can I just add to my website? If I add it maybe it will take away from what I am doing with the aff...?

I don't know I guess all I can do is just do it, thats my problem I always have questions instead of just jumping in. Don't have much to lose so I'lll just jump in

Just jump in - you can read quite a bit and learn that way but the real education will come from actually building a site from start to finish, including the marketing and the promotion. Since you're on the ground floor, my piece of advice to you is this:

Answer the "so what" question from day one. Why should anyone bother going to your site, what do you have to offer that valuable on each and every page? If you're trying to speak to a certain audience, then make sure you speak to them loud and clear. From your post, it sounds like you're part of the audience you're reaching, which is great.

Content rich, laser focused, and a strong unique voice are the three characteristics you really need to think about right now. As far as CSS/HTML go - you don't have to learn all of that right now - I would focus on a clean structure and design, easy to navigate over flashy colors and what have you. Getting it out there is more important than having each and every detail right.

Keep us posted, but don't slow down because of us either. Enjoy your site, and may you have all the success you're looking for and then some!

I think yes, as these guys said, stick to one subject, and then go from there, if you don't accomplish not even one goal, you definitely will get lost on the way.
About SEO on-page optimization it is good, but the true mac is off-page optimization. It will bring you the best SEPR in any search engine. So do a quick and good on-page SEO and then focus on off-page SEO.
