Begineer in PHP & need suggestions for project

    Hello friends,
    I am 3rd yr IT Engineering student & a beginner to learn PHP. I have to submit a project using PHP & so want to build a application. So can anyone suggest me a project that I can build it easily using PHP in 3-4 months.

    Can you elaborate on what type of features can I include?
    I am a beginner & isnt making CMS tough?
    I have worked in Joomla & WP...

    Who said it had to be 'tough' or complex, you can simply make a basic PHP/MySQL powered one, i.e.

    A backend (simple password protected admin with a form) to add posts/updates, and frontend to display the posts/updates.
