Let me explain my situation. Until 3 months ago I only knew basic html. I used it to make sites about my hobbies and put my sites on geocities.

I started visiting various forums to learn about making pages. I learned about java, php and such. I finally decided to try to make a site that involved php. it took a few days, learning about mySql databases. I found a free dating site script and decided to put it on free hosting.

My friend came buy lastnight when I finally got done. He initially came to visit my 3 week old son. He looked on my screen and saw the site. He was shocked that I would go to such a place, with having a wife and all. I explained it was my site. He was instantly curious about buying such a site. He offered me $300 for me to build him a site, and said we could work out a plan for paying me to maintain the site.

this sounds pretty good. I think I may take him up on it. He wants to know how much cash it would cost to get the site seen by people.

I need to know where to spend that money for him.
    I would love some advice.

Does $20 a month to manage the site sound reasonable? high? low?

That sounds low. But it really depends on what you would have to do and how much time it would take you.

I'm not sure how much work it would be. right now the site is just made with no members. My friend that has no experience at all with computers, sees a lot of promise in the site. We are still just talking about prices. The work would be enjoyable and may bring a new job(making websites) that I enjoy(making websites) for me.

my job would be to market the site, administer it, and explain where his invested money is being placed.
