Just curious about sb sites - do posts made there offer any seo benefits?

I get a bit of traffic from them but nothing showing up with yahoo etc and other tools used to check.

Often wondered about this as there are guys on forums selling services using sb sites for seo qualities.

For example a link in oneview will show up in your "backlink watch" as you call it. And yes, posts there make a big seo benefit! Google discovers: "hey with every post on this blog (or similar) 30 different links (or more) in a sb network will show up". If your intention is to get links to show up, you´ll have to get those links to be indexed, only until your sb-links are indexed, they will show up in yahoo/google webmaster tools. How to index those links? create a feed for every link, submit that feed to rss feed agregators. Ping your feed. (thats the short version...)

    1. Copy the URLs for your backlinks from that SB site,
    2. Create an RSS feed via RSS feed creator tool for this, Also add a keyword rich description for your new feed. Create your feed.
    3. Submit Feed to RSS Aggregators (free software called RSS Submit)
    4. Bookmark the feed (you should know how to do this ;-)))
    5. Ping your feed, Ping-O-Matic, Pingler, ...
