Here's a post to request a major overhall of the web interface. Our current situation: We have many geographically separated employees, as well as an outsourced tech support firm. The tech support firm will only use the web to interface to our customer base. Some employees at times need to be on dialup. I can bet that a majority of OG users all say "I sure wish the web interface was better." We could use the ability to interface with all the different options available in the client interface, at least as it deals with individual customers. For example, there are options in the "Email Information" screen which would be nice to have on the web interface. Right now we have the email name, password, and routeto. Same with domains, and more customer info data. Another nice option would be to trigger events from the web. For example, when configuring an email address, to be able to trigger the auto server setup options. PK
The Optigold ISP rewrite in progress is web interface only, so in a way, it's already being worked on.
This is not a plug for their company as I really don't have any affiliation with them other than we are a very satisfied user but you may want to look at the OptiSkin package. I believe their website is http://www.optiskin.com
What is the timeframe for release? or even beta? We're finding it increasingly more unreliable to use the web interface due to the flakeyness filemaker on windows...not to mention the much needed expansion of reseller support, hosting etc.....I've got to make a decision whether to wait for the new version or migrate to another platform because we can't quite do what we need... So in essence we can't plan on anything; it could be tomorrow or 2007? Seems to fly in the face of customer satisfaction... jon
?? Any help appreciated.... I realize we're not the largest ISP out there, but without even the roughest time frame, we're going to have to jump away from Optigold. .. Jon.
