    crazy. i got accepted with my first application and was pleasantly surprised after hearing the horror stories with getting in as an editor. actually i was rejected for the category i did apply for, but instead they gave me a smaller cat to edit, so i could work my way up. i thought that was pretty cool.

    in regards to my actual application, i gave them my affiliations, but as they were already listed in dmoz, i guess they didn't see me as a potential abuser (which seems to be a reason why they would reject an application). i guess i just got lucky :)
