Has anyone here been successfully accepted as a DMOZ editor?

    Any tips?

is it even worth it? Does it give you the ability to list your websites instantly? Or does it have to be in your section you edit, or is it even possible to do that?

    Check out ODP / DMOZ

You'll find all your answers there.

And go on and try it... you may like it! Just be honest, and don't treat your own sites any different then the other sites you add in.

I applied and was accepted to the editor for the Washington state list of certified public accountants. I did this because I kept trying to get on the list myself and never was accepted. Of course, when I was accepted, I found all my old "requests" hanging there, suspended...

I don't have any tips for getting accepted. But I will note that one tax season when I didn't add any directory entries, they deactivated my editor status. Note: I was checking in to see if CPAs had requested to be added... but I was busy with, well, taxes.

it can take them weeks to process your app... it takes years for sites, weeks for editors.
