Beckham starts with LA Galaxy

She is not old in real terms, but she is all plastic that's for sure

 

Even heard that Capello is joining Beckham at Galaxy. Its ironical that the man who forced DB out of Europe will be teaming up with him again !

 

I'm not sure that DB is happy to hear that!

But where do LA Galaxy get all that money? All of a sudden?

 

Galaxy even signed Abel Xavier if i am not mistaken, could the US guys confirm?

btw : Xavier is a former Portugal international who played last season for Boro.

 

Oh yeah, I think they signed him before Beckham!

The California Golden Seals moved to Cleveland as the Barons. The Barrons and the Minnesota North Stars were both struggling so they merged and moved to Dallas becoming the Stars who one the Cup a few years back. This used to be my California hockey trivia but now I have to adjust it thanks to the Duckies.

 

The Galaxy is on the hook for a small portion of Beckham's compensation. Pepsi, Addidas and other are taking care of most of it. The Galaxy have been around for about ten years and have been successful, they have a new stadium which they share with the LA version of Chivas. The MLS has second tier TV contracts and also sells advertising on their jerseys.

 

I don't like Capello at all. He forced Ronnie out of Inter Milan & later Real Madrid. He did the same for Beckham too.

 

When I first heard about this I was like wtf? How can the Galaxy afford to pay this guy and if they're going to spend that kind of money, why wouldn't they get Ronaldinho or someone else who could dominate the MLS. So I figured it was L.A. buying an icon and not the Galaxy buying a soccer player. But after I thought about it this is a great investment. It may not pay off for a wile but I can see Beckham bring a lot of fans to the MLS and of course the tabloids and paparazzi in America will love this guy. His contract might be the norm for MLS players in a few years. I wish I had some money to invest in MLS right now. I have a feeling it's going to get big. As a huge soccer fan in America I'm looking forward to it.

Great stuff I just hope they keep on her case so they bury her and she becomes what she is a 'laughing stock'

Anyone know how Beckham's contract with the Galaxy compares to other stars in the European leagues. Is he making more money than Ronaldinho?

 

I rather hear about a soccer mom that used to be in a girl band (was it Banarama or ???) than Paris, Britney, Lindsey, Rosie, Anna, or any of the other women the gossip media shoves in our faces.
