Is this AdSense forum ? :)

Best way for you would be in order to be ok with AdSense TOS and search engines .

    1. Create a 404 with content of sitemap (or another page that will link to important parts of your website) WITHOUT ads on it .

    2. Redirect all .htm pages that are no longer on your website to homepage .

If you are using AdSense, don't use redirects, why not creating custom 404 error pages? with adsense on it!

That's against TOS. Google don't allow to have ads on error page.

    But What i do.

    My website is http://www.sports4kids.com.

Website have aspx page. In older version there was htm page which i try to remove by 404 redirect. I done a right? Because some pages are still showing by Google Site:domain.com.

So, what i do, I set there 301 redirected in place of 404 redirect, which allreday set to my home page?

That is what I have done. I have just customized a page and uploaded it as a 404 error page.

You don't need to use 301 redirects unless you are permantly redirecting some pages to another location of your site.

Would you serve a 404 page through the http headers?
