Be Careful with 10directory.com

I got an e-mail solicitation to buy a link at gldfz.com, which is associated with 10directory.com. The e-mail (and the actual site) claims that gldfz.com is PR6. After buying the link I checked and it is PR0. I probably should have checked it first, but I've heard of 10directory.com and thought they were legit. I asked for a refund, but they refused. I also bought links at two other 10directory affiliates that claimed to be PR6, and they turned out to be PR5.

Be very careful when dealing with 10directory.com.

Well, that's bad luck... anyway you should install the Google toolbar if you haven't yet...

You are not buying links only PR,
be careful to choose some established web directories,
just ignore the offer that claimed high PR cheap price.
    Be smart next time. ;)

If you paid with PayPal did you file a dispute? If you paid with a credit card you should file a chargeback.

@wsfarrell you made a payment on 9th of June, opened a dispute next day and escalated it to Paypal 2 days later. This all happened in 3 days what do you mean they refused to refund my payment? What is the rush? I sent you your money back even after Paypal refused the dispute and there was nothing else you could do about it.

The Pagerank of the page is legit. Any web tool can validate it. I do not know what you were expecting but for 19$/yr price if you had overwhelming expectations and you were disappointed or that just because your toolbar didn’t show a number on one occasion, or that you couldn’t wait for a few days for a response and you panicked doesn’t mean my services are fradulent.

I operate my businesses for years and have made thousands of deals and I do not owe a person a dime.

Please take your time before making such accusations next time.

Anyways, hope this resolves the dispute.

    Best to you

Mate you contacted me 2 years before as well for the same thing and I again told you that I paid you 50$ for the link removal and topic closed. Everytime you see my directory you start shouting "my footer links! my footer links!" maybe you should start having proper archive of records of people who paid you before using words like SCAM which makes you look like an unorganized amateur.

@LeoSeon: Without any doubts you are misguiding potential customer and existing advertiser, claiming to have a PR6 while the page/site is a PR5. That approach for sure is a fraudulent business approach.

Regarding linkback; I had to post/send that message because you didn't mention your site url while making the payments. Anyways I have added it to the notes. Apologies for the same. :)

Datacenters might show different results due to Google update, the website was showing PR6 when advertised but noone has control over Google so it might change over time. Again I ask you to stop using words like fradulent or scam as all my business is fully transparent and I do not own anyone any money.

Yes I did mention coz you asked spesifically for the URL.

    It also says:
    Domain Name: GLDFZ.COM
    Created on: 20-MAY-10
    Expires on: 20-MAY-11

25 days old site based on alphabet soup domain has PR5?
    Are you fucking kidding me?

    How about some honesty?
Knowingly selling link in site that will drop to PR 0.... gimme a break

    Something else. You're saying:
    10 Directory is a human-edited, spam-free general web directory.

What will you call these listings?

I don't know about you but I call it spam infested directory

    :p

If you don't know how pagerank works why do you even post?

Where does it say the domain wasn't dropped? The domains can drop yet the links remain, and the pagerank is valid according to every tool, and you can confirm on Google it is not cloacked http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=info:www.gldfz.com but wait.. perhaps you know better.. Kids *sigh*

So there are a few keywords in some descriptions, big deal.

On my list there are only e-mails that have been submitted to one of my directories(I have 5 directories btw) and on each directory ToS it clearly states the newsletters, offers etc. are sent occasionally. Either you don't read the ToS's when you make submissions or you give submission jobs to other people. Nevertheless in every e-mail there is always an unsubscription link once you unsubscribe you will never receive any more e-mail. However, I am sorry if I caused you any inconvenience.

There are no Terms of Service on your directory and the suggestion that you may choose to spam your submitters was added to your guidelines long after any submission I made to your directory. It was very clear at that time that you did not indicate you'll be spamming me and others.

    http://web.archive.org/web/20080822125335/http://10directory.com/submit.php

Altering the terms of your submission guidelines and applying it to those who had submitted prior to that does not give you the right to send unsolicited email offers to peddle your crappy links

Why the hell should I have to opt-out of something I never opted in to to begin with?

Would you like to try again?

Just hopping you can tell more about PR

According to my tools, your supper site is piece of crap

"The domains can drop"... well in my book only low life will sell links knowing that PR will drop one day.

Of course, 70% of spam is very big deal mostly when you're misleading Public

    Personally I like this:
    6. For regular submissions; title must be the official website name (nabbed from AMRAY)
    and then
Allows you to choose your desired title.

To me that's sound like invitation to spam.

I don't know about this, I personally dislike the idea of someone selling links purely because of the PR.

Not really my job to educate you, there are plenty of free articles available on the internet.

As you see the PR is there, over 400 links are there, so doubtful what or who is the only piece of crap here.

Noone has any control over PR and every site's PR can drop or raise, my offer is what you see is what you get noone can make guarantees about future PR as it solely depends on Google. In my book only low-lifes will talk about stuff they have no idea over.

    Making up figures now?

There is a bit of flexibility for those who pay, such is the case with every offer on internet, doesn't mean an invitation to SPAM since it is still subject to approval.

So whatever find someone else to waste his time for please

Where is the part where you show me the date of your submission or what website you submitted? Just because you say it was prior doesn't actually show it is, you know. I understand you do not like what I am offering though it doesn't automatically qualify the message you receive once in 3-4 months with full sender information and automated unsubscription system as spam.
