What are some of the basics and guidelines needed to start an e-commerce website. I plan to do this with a partner as well, we want to sell electronics via the internet but there is a twist to it which I can't disclose for obvious reasons, but is there any legal documents needed and also any thing I should know beforehand?

I am 16 years old btw, I do have a bank account to my name, I have enough money ($x,xxx- low $xx,xxx total) with my partner to start this business covering design, coding, programming, shipping, logo, etc. thanks

First you should find the vendors for providing the electronics goods.

I remember researching this a tad when I was your age. For some reason I remember some stipulations with a minor setting up a registered business. By all means you don't need to register an official business yet, just remember the Feds don't care how old you are, they'll take your money :).

I already have those accounted for.

I am sure that's true, that is why I want to know the legalities before I begin, I know there are many young entrepreneurs out there.

Something I would be worried about is if it went big and needed toll free numbers, employers, building, not sure how that would work out with me being in school. Btw my partner is almost 18.
