promotion and promotion your site always. don't stop until you can get your target to increase traffic everyday...

 

there are many ways to increase traffic like:
1. SEO
2. Good adwords
3. Social Book Marking
4. Region specific article submission

 

I've also proven that video submission through traffic geyser and tube mogul also increases traffic.

 

work hard on off-page optimization and also concentrate on the on page of the site

 

First do proper Onsite SEO of your site and after doing this properly go for the offsite SEO

Main Factors to do in Onsite SEO are as Follows.

Register your site in General Directories.
Register your site in Niche Directories.
Post your site links in relevant forums.
Bookmark your site using social bookmarking sites.
Post in relevant blogs.
Submit articles in articles sites.

if you do all of these steps properly, then will be able to generate some amount of traffic to your site.

 

It's very important to target your advertising and promotions. So, for example I am building up a finance/investment forum and as such have been building up goodwill at some finance message boards.

Also, I would suggest spending some time developing your site before driving traffic. Web traffic has become so sophisticated and refined that they can be very snobby when they see a traffic that is below average. With so many sites, it's like Edna Krabappel - you only get one chance. Once you lose a viewer, he aint comin back.

 

First of all create good content and then promote it to the best.

 

you need to do some research about what you targeting in the market and then create a good content to target market and get traffic from there. with the targeting market research , you can also increase your traffic.

 

1. Build back links, submit to free directories that have PR1+, it is the base.
2. Update an article at least once in a week with Article Directories viz.

. Content should b fresh and unique.
3. Create BLOG update regularly.

4. Join forums with Do-follow tags, comments regularly.
5. N last b Patience, result will improve gradually.

 

Forum posting and article submission is the easiest way to gain traffic

For first traffic, the most useful sites I found so far are social type of sites like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Digg... for longer time traffic try link exchanging, article submission, feeder blogs...

I am completely agree with this list. Search engines should be first priority.
Can add forum posting for 5th place.

 

Just have really good content. I have had times where i just had good content and got 10000 unique visitors for one post and all that was done was a simple digg.

 

Social websites are just creating useless traffic, so bet on search engine optimisation, mostly of MSN and Yahoo, because users of these search engine are less, but targeted to US and with lower experience in internet
