There is much to remember about using search engine optimisation techniques that I have listed the more important ones here. 1. Find the right domain Your domain does count as it will be what people recognise related to your products and services. Always use your name as a part of a keyword or phrase. Choose a short domain name as people will forget it or won’t be able to spell it. 2. Use a sitemap This is the directory for all of your pages and all of your links. It is a good way to keep the crawlers coming back your page and lets you keep track of links that are not working. Sitemaps also help people to find pages they are not sure of finding in other ways. There are many tools available now to help you create a sitemap. 3. Choose keywords carefully A basic guideline in choosing keywords is to use a specific keyword that will take people directly to your site. Most good keywords will have up to three words. For example if you are selling shoes, shoes will find thousands of pages but if you use “shoes for babies†or “shoes for toddlersâ€, the field will be narrowed considerably. 4. Use related keywords Look for words that relate to your keywords and using the shoe example you can use phrases like “boots for toddlersâ€, “shoes for kidsâ€. Think of how you would search for the item. You need to build relevancy into all of your articles and make them readable to people and not just visible to spiders and crawlers. 5. Write for people Always write for people and not the search engines as the people are the ones who will be buying and recommending you to friends. If the information is of good quality with keywords in it and it still reads well that is the best advertising you have. 6. Choose quality over quantity The number of links pointing people to your web site doesn’t matter as long as they are relevant to your niche and add to your quality information. Don’t use link farms as a quick fix as you will be found out and penalised and probably have your site devalued. So check your links regularly and remove those that don’t do much.
Great tutorial. I would add that if you are doing link building then understand natural links and try to do this, however, natural links are not built yourself, but you can build as well, you don't have to use same things again and again, try to do something new, different, every step by step, it would work.
