Basic Question about wordpress

    this is probably a stupid question but when your creating a post, after the area where you input the text and image, theres an area called "Tags". What is this area for? is this for putting in keywords that search engines might use?

    tags are very similar to keywords...you can basically think of them as the same thing for all intensive purposes.

    they are keywords used on a lot of the blog search sites that are pinged (notified) by your wordpress blog
