Hey guys. Recently made a blog, and slowly working on it. So far not getting any traffic whatsoever. I have been submitting the articles to digg.com. The articles I have made are actually very good. Not trying to be cocky but some of my articles I haven't found anywhere and are very unique. But I'm just getting no hits or nothing I've waiting until my account gets upgraded on digital point so I can put my link in my signature. Hopefully that will increase my page rank etc. I'm looking for basic tips or anything to help me at least get some people to my site. Sad to say, but looking at analytics my site has had 6 hits and that has been from me Please help!
Take note: JohnChow, Shoemoney amd ProBlogger all get very good traffic, over 10,000 daily, because they have mainly advertised. Word of mouth and having a site for so long has helped too. Even if you want just a few thousand a day, which is still pretty low, you are going to have to pay for that traffic. Sorry, but there are no secrets, or whatever. That is basically it.
You must work hard to achieve good results, What blog platform are you using? (blogger, Wp, etc?) This is important, because some of them are optimized for SEO. Another way is to Participate at Related Forums & Blogs. Tag your content, Technorati is the first place that you should be tagging posts. Hope this helps, Good luck!
I don't know the details on what all they did, but, yes, in addition to putting ads in other webmasters' sites.
I am using Wordpress and I have been using a plugin called All in one SEO Thanks, I'll look into technorati. Well, I really can't use adwords as my budget doesn't allow it. Would you recommend me going into other peoples blogs and comment on theres with my link in my post etc. Or buying signature space etc to get my page rank higher?
how long have you been doing this ? how many articles have you submitted? there are tons of questions i could ask. lots of stuff that you have not mentioned that could affect your traffic. but the bottom line is that this is not a get rick quick scheme. it takes time, effort and patience.
Neither. You will get only a few hits here and there, and although you might get a higher ranking, it just isn't enough to be ranked high enough to be even seen. This subject of using signatures to get ranked high is a misconception with the inexperienced. But, seeing is believing, so try it for a while to see for yourself. Experiment with it.
Alright guys. This is what I've been thinking about. It looks like I need patience. So far I have put link in my signature. Submitted site to 45 search engines Sitemaps are done Digg.com done. Twitter done. Technorati waiting for blog claim confirmation. There is probably a billion things to do but by the looks of it, they won't do much unless I have more content. So I'm thinking on just focusing on writing as many articles I can for now, and hopefully nice and slow all the rest will just fall in place! Good idea or is there a better way?
Here is a small blueprint that could help you to get more visitors.. This would take some time and a lot of effot but the results would be worth it and plus it is completely free.. Pick 10-15 keywords related to your niche.. The keywords should get at least 3000 searches per month and should have low competition when put in quotes in Google ... If you are selling something then target buyer keywords ... For each keyword create a unique article and submit it to ezinearticles first.. Make sue you write an enticing Resource Box with the anchor text including your keyword and pointing to your site.. They will take some time to approve so in the meantime create videos for each keyword that you selected.. Use Animoto or ArticleVideoRobot if you are not sure of how to create videos... Make sure the videos have a watermark for your site.. Submit your video to top sites such as Youtube, Dailymotion, MetaCafe, Yahoo Video etc. Make sure the title of the video has your keyword and the description has a link pointing to your website....Use tubemogul or trafficgeyser to submit to multiple sites at once When you have finished with Video submission bookmarks each video on Bookmarking sites.. Use SENuke or socialposter to save your time .. While bookmarking make sure that the title and description contains the keywords that your videos are using.. If your article is approved by ezinearticles then submit similar articles to other article directories such as goarticles.com articleallecy.com articlecity.com searchwarp.com ideamarketers.com etc. Ideally you should not use the same article that you submitted to ezinearticles so you can spin them a bit so that they are different.. Remember the rule about bio box Next submit an article for each keyword to web 2 sites such as Squidoo Hubpages Google Knol Zimbio Wetpaint Tumblr and so on Make sure to include a link with anchor text to your site.. Next bookmark all your articles and web 2 submissions on social bookmarking sites in a similar way that you did with videos... Find forums related to your niche, become a member and include link to your site in signature.. You do not have to become member of each forum.. Just search for niche+forum on google and become member of top 5 or 10.. Contribute to the forums so that people start trusting you and visiting your site... Find high quality blogs and comment on them and include a link to your site.. Do not spam, instead post good feedback so that your comments are approved by blog owners.. Find high quality .edu and .gov sites and become a member and link to your site.. Search for the following in google inurl:forums+site:.gov or inurl:blog+site:.edu OK this trick is bit advanced but works wonders.. Collect the RSS feeds of all your blogs, articles, social submissions, video sites etc... Then head to this site http://www.rssmix.com This site allows you to create new feeds by combining multiple feeds.. So you can create hundreds of feeds by combining your blog feeds, article feeds, social submissions feeds, video sites etc. Now submit each feed to the following RSS aggregators http://www.blogdigger.com/add.jsp (PR7) http://www.blogpulse.com/submit.html (PR7) http://www.feedage.com/submit.php (PR6) http://www.2rss.com (PR6) http://publisher.yahoo.com/rss_guide/submit.php (PR6) http://www.plazoo.com/en/addrss.asp (PR6) http://www.feedbite.com (PR5) http://www.rssfeeds.com (PR5) http://feedraider.com/ (PR5) http://www.feedsubmitter.com/ (PR5) http://www.unclefeed.com/rss/addfeed.html (PR4) http://www.feedsee.com/submit.html (PR4) http://www.feedfury.com/ (PR3) http://www.goldenfeed.com/AddFeed.aspx (PR3) http://www.feedooyoo.com/ref.htm (PR3) http://www.feedest.com/feedAdd.cfm (PR3) http://www.rssmad.com (PR3) http://www.feedbase.net/Add.php http://www.rssmicro.com/?m=fs#theForm http://www.rssmotron.com/feed_eater.php Repeat the process with every new site that you create The above process will take a lot of time but is definitely worth it if you want long term benefits .. You would get tons of backlinks and visitors without spending money... You need to devote time and have patience.. are you game? Hope that helps, Anup
Yes, focus on PPC. Learn how to use it and make sure you study landing page optimization, too. Also forget about text (writing articles) because the future is video. I hope these videos will help you: Video 1 Video 2
That one backlink from DP won't make the traffic rain in. Build 10 backlinks or more per day and you will see result, maybe not this month, but sooner or later they will come - if you do it right.
Try to find another more related forum to post and get a link in your siganature. In addition, exchanging link with other webmasters is also a good idea.
I guess you have read a lot of suggestions. I won't repeat what have been said. For me, I don't really like posting to digg. Instead submit your articles on article directory site. Surely, it will give you traffic but not so many for you to expect. Another thing is that it doesn't matter how unique your article was, what's important is it's relevance, if people need those kinds of readings You can also go to social network sites and make friends then invite them to your site.
