Hi all, I love AdSense. Do you also? If yes, here is a short tut for you about it. Loads of basic things covered from A-Z. Enjoy! Applying for an account When I first heard about this program, I sort of applied instantly. Of course I think you see the consequences of it. Well yes you guessed right. I was rejected. This is the message they sent me: -------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- I was very disappointed. When I tried to figure out the cause, I did everything that I could do. I asked for help on online forums and I posted new threads on the Google help forum. In most cases, I got this answer: “Read the AdSense policy and rules, try to obey them and make changes if necessary.†So I read the rules. The main points said: • You have to be at least 18 years old to apply. • You have to own the site for at least 6 months (in some locations) • Does your site comply with the program policies? (Some stuff like: enough content, traffic sources, copyright content etc.) In a few weeks I checked and rechecked my blog. I corrected some mistakes and I applied again... First few weeks I finally got approved! I danced and celebrated. It was a big moment in my blogging career. So, What to do next? After you danced yourself out, just sit down and think. Plan ahead. Plan what are you going to do and when. This is always useful in the online world. Choosing and Placing ads So, you are ready to start to generate the biggest online income ever seen. First log in to your account. You will see a tab in the menu saying: “My adsâ€. Just click that to get started. You will see a box with “New ad unit†written in it. Click it! Now here comes the interesting bit: You have to choose from styles, sizes and ad types. Here are them: • Styles: Every color and shape. • Sizes: 468x60,728x90,300x250 (These are only the most used sizes) Here are more sizes: • Ad types: Text only ads, Image/rich media ads only, Both text and image ads Remember that wider serves better. It gets more clicks, according to a study. Ad placement: Once you've got the html code of your ad, you have to place it somewhere on your website/blog. I recommend you to place one image ad in the header and one text ad in the sidebar. Usually the header ad will get more clicks, because when users visit your site, they see that first. Track and improve: Track your performance in the next few months or so. If you think you are doing well, just relax. But if you have reached none of your goals, then modify and test. I think the most interesting bit: Increasing revenue Once you have your Google ads up and running, try to do loads of things to improve your click rate and with that improve your earnings. There are lots of great ways to increase your revenue: Generate more traffic: It's pretty simple. More visitors, more clicks. More clicks, more revenue. Of course you need targeted visitors for your site. There are lots of methods to help to achieve this. One is: Optimize your site for search engines. Organic traffic is more likely targeted than anything else. Try to figure out high paying keywords for your site to get a higher CPC (cost-per-click – It shows you in how much money you get for one click in average) rate. Try different ad placements: Test everything! Even if it sounds stupid. As Sir Winston Churchill said: "Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm." Be patient: Patience is the base of everything. Without it you lose. So don't lose faith. Motivate yourself and think that everything will work out fine. Final words Hope you enjoyed reading this short tutorial on AdSense. Hope you could implement them on your own blog/static website. But be careful: Don't get banned! Good luck with your online success! Best Regards, Akos
Most people here know how it works, in fact there's just one thing I'd say for the noobs out here: Don't click your ads. There are so many threads opened here daily on DP asking why people get banned and it's mostly their own fault because they clicked their own ads.
