Hello friends, I think I have some basic understanding problem about tags and duplicate tags, now I need to clear myself. usally I dont put any description to my tags. is it important to put descrition in all tags ? after using screaming frog I found that I have some duplicate page title : like : /tag/post_url some are : /post url I have some duplicate H1 and H2 tags also. Is this bad for seo ? if these are creating problem.now hoe to solve ? please help me to understand the right on page seo. Thanks
I don't put descriptions in my tags either. The tags are keywords related to your content. I have never seen a benefit to putting in a description on a tag. You can use SEO plugins to block indexing of /tag/post_url otherwise use the robots file to do it, then you won't have the duplicate page titles issue. You can see which ones Google is marking as duplicate by using Google Webmaster Tools for that site. I would definitely manually remove duplicate H1 and H2 tags in each post. Your title should be H1 and if you use any other headers they should be relevant and specific to the content, usually related keywords but if having visitors stay is important to you then make it natural. The days of keyword stuffing are over.
