besides the published tips ( sig ) one key tip above all: create content - unique quality by the thousands of pages start on regular basis ( daily ?) one or more pages each day give absolute TOP ( ATF ) placement of MOST successful adsense formats to achieve top $ revenue. quality content - published fully SEO'd - will create the trafffic you need to get real income to comfortably live from. of course each can get a few $ from first days - but the get a few k$ / m regularly is a different story only dedicated professionals may achieve easily. First of all i would like to thank you, well i try to update regularly but at times i get like 4000 uniques and end up making like 50cents
It depends on how well your blog is being publicised... Publicity is very important.. and also back-linking.
4000 uniques a day should bring you around 40-50 us$/day - hence definitely more than 1k$/month i have approx 3x that traffic/day and get accordingly several k$/m however: all my pages fully validated html all pages fully and individually SEO'd and absolute TOP placements for all my advertisers PLUS top formats ONLY. most content is hand coded ALL content is unique and self created I invest several HUNDREDS of hours yearly just in adsense study/optimization and SEO study/optimization re back-linking: i have NEVER ever participated in link exchange all links are generic links accumulated during 10+ yrs of web publishing NO - backlink has nothing at all to do with adsense $ backlinks may affect PR but PR brings NO traffic - only interesting content and SEO brings top SERPS/top traffic and traffic converted into top $ requires adsense OPTIMIZATION to the absolute maximum. some 90+ % of all whining webmasters are UN-educated about Google's recommended "most successful 3 formats" and also FAR TOO STINGY to give TOP placement ( ATF ) to their advertisers ... stinginess = opposite of generosity results in stingy adsense $ ... while generosity in adsense placements/formats results in generous adsense revenue!!!
to give you a final precise idea what i consider fully ADSENSE-optimized .. since my last optimization in february 2007 both my eCPM and CTR - site wide average - now is in the low 2 digits. before it was less about half to a quarter of that number. that is the average from many channels with totally different topics - from spiritual, to love, to life, to technical to travel and photography - hence a good average of life-topics. some channels are much higher while others much lower but most channels are around my average numbers ( 2 digits ). that's always the goal i aim for when configuring a new topic-sub section of my site and when chosing the precise adsense formats. for more help - on my site the currently used formats/placements/color schemes always are the MOST successful in adsense $.
Adsense placement is very important for higher CTR. But the content is the most important part, as it will drive more traffic to your site and more income, even your CTR is low.
Step 1: Worry about UNIQUE content that people will actually want Step 2: Worry about your ad placement and CTR Both steps will require a lot of time!
