    Hello,
I want to make sure that stats from Major League Baseball games are free to use without any copyright problems.

I am pretty sure that it is find to use it because they are facts but I just wanted to see what the opinions are out there.

    Thanks

Since almost every American TV station, radio station, newspaper and other news outlet list the baseball standings and stats, I could not imagine that they are copyrighted.....or all these outlets would have to have permission in writing.

You can't just copy and paste, because the format is under copyright.

Also, make sure you're not copying a stat that's proprietary. While hits, errors and walks are all standard, some sites have created their own formulas.

The media does get permission. That's something, evidently, that many don't know. For instance, there's a big uproar over the changes the NFL is making in regards to talking about its games, using NFL names/logos and so forth.
