Base weight updates?

Just wondering how often the Base weight gets updated?

Google has indexed thousands of more pages from my site the last couple of weeks (from 22.5k to 27.5k now), but the base weight has remained the same..

Is 4500 the max BW a PR0 site can have?

no, it's not, I've got PR0 sites with more than that

    edit:

oops, misread that. I'm not over that with a PR0

but I'd be very very surprised if there was a cap built in based on PR. the most important factor is the number of pages in google

Getting more and more pages indexed in google (up to 28.8k now) but still no update.. ;)

It's really no rush, just curious about the update frequency.
I believe I've got a pretty good base weight already.. :)

Redleg, looks like DP did the update last night. The reason I asked about the cap is that I have 2 PR0 sites in the system. One has 6800+ pages, the other 16k+. They both have a BW of 4500. Looks like a cap to me.

There is a cap on the total number of pages part of the formula, but not the rest. The reason behind the cap on pages is there were a few instances where a single domain had like a million pages of nothing but crap pages (no real content), and took 95% of the total ad network weight because of it.

I see, and I can understand that one..

But it's too bad that a few a**holes ruins the party for the rest of us...

It looks like I've reached that cap now, since my base weight haven't been updated, but my referals weight have..

I wish it was a way to determine crap pages, since almost all of my indexed contains the network links, but I can understand that it would be too much work (if not impossible) to do it.

Also, as sites in the network grow, the cap on pages of content will grow (it already was increased once before).

What is the cap? (so we don't contribute more pages than we'll receive credit for)

Yeah, mine hasn't updated for a while either, but the number of indexed pages since I've joined has gone up by over 2k.

Is the baseweight a simple representation of the number of pages indexed (up to the cap)? In other words if you have a base weight of 22,000 then does that mean you are receiving credit for 22,000 pages? If so, there's no reason to put 100,000 pages into the mix since it would result in an unbalanced reciprocation, right?

If that's not how it works, is there a formula someone has out there?

there isn't a formula, and the formula won't be released.

more factors go into it than just the number of pages- and the "cap" for the pages (which isn't made public, by the way) is adjusted based on the total weight of the network- it doesn't remain the same.
