Hello! First off - awesome idea!! Now.... I just signed up to the Ad Network and attempted to validate my web site but it seemed to have failed with this error: Site failed automatic validation as of 2004-08-18 (make sure URL and site type is correct - if everything is correct, it may require manual validation Which is okay cos its more than likely my fault. The question I have is that it worked out my based weight regardless... now it calcuated it out at 2,812 but when I went to your tool for backtracking it gave me 291 for the same site and then when I used inurl:www.me.com site:www.me.com in google it gave me 2,080. so how did you work out my based weight? Cheers Marc
The weight is not entirely based on pages in the site. And even for the part that it does, it's not a 1:1 ratio...
Hello - thanks for replying! I was wondering if you could just provide a little more information on how your work out the weightings... I don't want you to expose your IP but do access the google api and get a web sites page rank? or do you use somethign else? Cheers Marc
Sorry, the weighting formulas are intentionally not disclosed. You can find some additional info here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=17063#post17063 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=23005#post23005
