mistermix your sarcasm (I hope) is lame on that one... This man has shown to have some integrity so far. Admitting things in has past (don't like how he made it sound OK to have done drugs, but he admits it) and having taken care of these tickets. He walks the walk not just talks the talk. Let see how far his integrity goes. (Some here probably don't even know what the word integrity means. funny but sad.)
This is such a non issue the cops in chicago don't care if your parked legally or illegally they just like to write tickets.
It's not a Chicago issue. The tickets were issued when he attended Harvard Law School in Boston. I just a bit surprised that the issue came up now. Maybe he thought there was an expose in the works to call him a deadbeat. They sometimes do in Chicago. They write a lot of traffic tickets, as well. I grew up there and quite frequently was driving with one or more moving violations awaiting court appearances. The way to get out of them was to show up in court. Most of the time, the police officer never showed up and the violation was dismissed. Other times, it is so obvious that the charge is bogus that the judge dismissed the case. They make a lot of money from the suckers who pay the fine rather than showing up in court. I once showed up in court with about 100 other people, all with traffic tickets. The judge asked all people who wanted to plead guilty to step forward and pay the fine, rather than waiting. About 10 fools did. After they left, the judge rolled in a movie projector and showed us all a 15 minute traffic safety flick. He then dismissed all the cases. True story. He must have had a golf game scheduled.
yes, heck they even go walk around the private parking garages in the city to make sure all of your stickers are up to date.
I'm sick of hearing about Barack Obama - the only reason he is in the spot-light and being elevated is due to positive discrimination. In other words, the mere fact he is black means he is getting un-due attention that is un-deserved. Doug Stanhope is running for president - where's his free coverage in the news? Most likely. He is cleaning up, as he should, that shows he knows that some things need to be taken care of. As long as it isn't moving a dead body, he should do well taking care of these things.

Yes it was sarcasm, and yes it was lame. Obama parked his car in a place and for a length of time that resulted in a penalty from the local government. Please do not elect this man.
