Well guys I recently started using BANS with CJ and I love it. I thought since there are literally almost an infinite amount of NICHE's that we could have a thread where people can offer tips on how to get traffic. I'll start it off by giving a tip and let's have each person try to add at least one tip. Please don't link to another website that requires pages and pages of reading. Let's get a simple thread where people can come, read, and get some benefit out of it. 1. Use directory submission services or submit your own sites to different directories to help build PR and also help with rankings.
I like Stumble. I have a hard time justifying Digg on store fronts, but if they have article content I'll Digg it. I also like Squidoo. Nothing beats PPC though. hanji
1) add relevent content to your store 2) submit your BANS to free link directories 3) submit articles to article directories like Ezine 4) post on related forums with a sig link 5) look for related questions on Yahoo answers 6) make comments on related blogs 7) traffic exchanges 8) usfreeads
SEO, bookmarking and the usual hard work? It's not rocket science. I'd be damned to advertise it on a place where there are lots of internet marketers though.
I'd suggest that you SEO your sites. Target keywords in following nature - brand names; - product names; - product models; You can refer to eBay pulse to get good ideas what's selling hot right now!
I'm also a big fan of blogs to get traffic. Plus, I use link exchanges with high PR sites (range PR3-PR5). Lastly, I use both free and paid directories.
What website lists a good place to "ping". Kind of doesn't make sense I know but what I mean is in wordpress it gives you an option to list what sites you want to ping so is there a good list of sites I should paste in there?
hi: here's a list: http://rpc.pingomatic.com/ http://www.a2b.cc/setloc/bp.a2b http://api.feedster.com/ping http://api.my.yahoo.com/RPC2 http://api.my.yahoo.com/rss/ping http://www.blogdigger.com/RPC2 http://www.blogshares.com/rpc.php http://www.blogsnow.com/ping http://www.blogstreet.com/xrbin/xmlrpc.cgi http://coreblog.org/ping/ http://ping.blo.gs/ http://ping.feedburner.com http://ping.syndic8.com/xmlrpc.php http://ping.weblogalot.com/rpc.php http://www.popdex.com/addsite.php http://rpc.blogrolling.com/pinger/ http://rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ping http://rpc.weblogs.com/RPC2 http://topicexchange.com/RPC2 http://xping.pubsub.com/ping/ http://api.my.yahoo.com/rss/ping http://api.moreover.com/ping http://rpc.icerocket.com:10080/
Thanks. So just to be clear what this is for. Basically it notifies a number of directories or whatever that I have a new blog post and they scan my site to index the article?
nash123: When you have a new post, you "ping" the blog directories to send notification that new contents are up. CY
