Ok, been reading about the bans stores and such so I bought the software. Now im trying to do everything they tell me so I DL the trial version of CuteFTP....so far so good....then I just simply try to connect and I keep getting this error.

    STATUS:> [1/6/2008 8:17:56 AM] Getting listing ""...
    STATUS:> [1/6/2008 8:17:56 AM] Resolving host name XXXX.info...
    STATUS:> [1/6/2008 8:17:56 AM] Host name XXXX.info resolved: ip = 00.00.000.000.
    STATUS:> [1/6/2008 8:17:56 AM] Connecting to FTP server... xxxx.info:21 (ip = 00.00.000.000)...
STATUS:> [1/6/2008 8:17:56 AM] Socket connected. Waiting for welcome message...
    ERROR:> [1/6/2008 8:18:17 AM] Can't read from control socket. Socket error = #10054.

NOTE: I changed the ip and domain name for security

I tried all 3 types of connection
    Using global Settings
    Use Port
    use PASV

I even turned off my firewall and tried all 3 as well and when the firewallis off it tells me to check the connnection etc...

I want to use cute as its what they (bans) use but is it my computer set up of cuteftp? I went on there (cuteftp) site and users had the same problems but when they tried diffrent settings it worked for them.

Im a big dummy and dont know shi* about ftp so is there something easier to use? What do you BAN newbies and pros use as a ftp.

    PLEASE HELP!

I have the same problem sometimes.
Maybe you can try another ftp client?
    Give filezilla a try,it's free.

Is it easy and straight forward? I need a basic almost "talk to me like a baby" ftp client to use.
