I'm considering launching BANS with Travel niche. Is there a market for this or will it be a waste of time? I have 2 great domains that's sitting and collecting dust that I'd like to put to good use. I'd like to earn a minimum of $100 per month.
I would go for it. Apart from the initial expense of the BANS, which can be used for multiple sites, your domains will 1. Not be sitting on the shelf, gaining dust 2. Potentially earn money 3. BANS requires very little effort to set up. 4. The domains will be indexed in Google, and may even gain PR should you decide to sell the domains in the future. Not sure if you will earn $100 a month, as that depends on niche and promotion. But you will probably gain the cost of your BANS expense eventually.
Thanks. I think I will do it, specially since I already own BANS and running 2 sites on it at the moment.
what could you sell for a site like that, though? Keep in mind, youre limited to what's available on ebay.
very basic rule of thumb when selling sites is 10*monthly revenue, other factors such as page rank, alexa come into it but thats a good ballpark.
Yes, you are limited with BANS stand-alone. However, the site can be customized to add other features. For the time being though, my goal is not to sell, but to accumulate income producing sites. My goal for this year is to get to earning an average of $100 per day.
hey mcmuney: With the downsizing of economy, I foresee that people will be looking for bargains even when come to travel. You may want to target following items (those that help people save money_: -cheap air tickets; -travel cert.; etc hope this helps.
Thanks, that's probably a good idea. I'm nearly done adding the 2 travel sites, I should have them up and running by tomorrow.
I also have a couple of older registrations of travel domain names laying fallow. The only hesitation on my part is whether it's worth taking some time to "BANSify" them, since it's a category/niche that so heavily saturated. I gotta think about that. Maybe do a quick and dirty, get a few inbound links, add a blog as a repository for a whole bunch of unused travel content and forget about 'em. If nothing else, the unused content might even generate some AeSense revenue. Like I say, I gotta think about it.
I'm on the same boat. I don't plan on doing much in the beginning, but a few blogs and wait for them to be crawled and hope for some organic traffic. By the way, it didn't take me long to BANSify the sites. Just copied the whole folder and changed the category id, keywords and EPN id. I just have to create a logo tonight... and ready to go. I'll probably spend a total of 1hour to setup both sites.
No, I'd have to do them from scratch. Shouldn't take too long, since I don't think I would give them the attention I lavish on other BANS sites.
I've launched the 1st travel site. I'll start minimal marketing efforts and depending on results after a few weeks, will launch it with the 2nd domain.
hey mcmuney: a suggestion for you, and it involves milking youtube vid. Let's say you are promoting a travel package to a country, you can embed your pages with related traveling video from youtube. Videos are better at converting
Hey, do you know any software that is able to make a Travel review sites for tickets, etc with affiliate links?.... i have a travel domain too
