Hi everybody I have purchased BANS and did a test store, worked ok, and I've decided to create a network of sites around a niche. I have purchased 35 domain names all within 1 niche. I'd like to setup a main site with articles, content, videos, etc. and link to each BANS site from the main site. My questions are; 1) Do any of DP members with large number of BANS sites have any tips about managing large number of BANS sites? 2) Any ideas about cross linking these sites? (I'm planning to put them on 5 different web hosts) any tips would be appreciated. 3) How much unique content for each BANS site would be good to start with? (e.g. 5 unique articles each, etc.) 4) Is there any way to manage all of these sites from 1 control panel? I haven't seen anything yet, but just wondering. Because it'll be kind of hard to update all of them. 5) Any BANS Custom Template Designers out there? If your service is good and affordable, please PM me, I'd be happy to see your previous work. Because I'll need a designer to design me custom BANS Templates. Thanks in advance for the answers. Great information being shared about BANS and CJ here.
35 domain names in one "niche"? Is it really a niche? That seems like a lot of sites for one niche. Maybe what you mean are 35 niches within a category??? Unfortunately BANS was not really designed to support multiple stores off of one install. It would be a killer feature, but the architecture of the code is such that it would be tough to do it by modding the software, at that point might as well write your own script. Which is pretty much the only way to be able to manage a large network from one control panel. As for managing a lot of BANS sites, figure your system out, then scale it. It is like an assembly line. With some creative use of a spreadsheet it is manageable. Admittedly it is kind of a pain in the a$$ once you've got more than a handful of stores though. If there was something like a BANSmu like WordpressMU with the multi-domain support it would be killer. Perhaps WordpressMU + phpBay or similar...
