BANS in websites- is this a back link?

    If I created a BANS in my websites and then put a link back to my website in the BANS would that be considered a back link?

    I don't believe so, since the link would be pointing to another location within the same domain. A true backlink is another domain pointing a link to yours with content on that page that is relevant to yours.
