I know I'm asking a lot of questions but am eager to learn and of course am on info overload here and there about a few things and am checking into them first by word-of-mouth as that is a very valuable tool! Anyone using or used BANS? http://www.buildanichestore.com/
I have used it, it did what it said it would but the key thing is traffic. BANS stores by themselves (Pretty much like any website) are useless, you need people to go there and buy things... Concentrate on getting traffic to your website. Once you have traffic (relevant) you will have money
I have used BANS and it converts very well. One thing that is cool about it is that the simple interface that allows me to manage more than 60 BANS at once. Anyway, you will need a lot of link building for the sites in order to bring in targeted traffic. Exactly. Every site needs traffic to make money!
I have several sites and can tell you its not as easy as people would have you believe. Even though it is relativly simple to set up, you will still need to do a lot of link building and promotion. You will also need to customize your templates so it does not look like the other million BANS sites on the web. Take a look at this Web Directory for some examples.
For $100 it does a lot. As for generating traffic, what did everyone think BANS was a free traffic machine that would magically make you millions because you put up some lame site? You still have to promote your own stuff and work. It's worth $100 but don't get your expectations from those long, ugly landing pages that promise you a mansion for nothing.
Ugly i have seen worse! this is quite short considering. Im not gonna mention um as this would generate unwanted clicks. But yeah any promise that normally seems to good to be true normally is. Its never that easy! If it was we would all be owning milllion dollor money making sites!
Heres one http://www.easy-traffic-tactics.com/, sorry was reading a spammy thread 2 min later. Look what i found. Never ending page!
thanks everyone for your input on this - if i'm going to take the time to drive traffic to the site I'd rather focus on other methods right now.
I've actually had a good experience with BANS. Probably due to the fact that the setup includes a sitemap, and so it helps with the indexing factor in Google. I also like Zilo (I see that's also mentioned above, and it's free.) With both of these, after I built the sites I was receiving traffic within a few days and some sales in the first week.
I see Zilo mentioned. What is that? Also I've seen BANS mentioned a lot here and had no idea what it was. I'm glad I read this thread!
BANS has a forum where you can learn a lot from the users who use it. i have never used it myself but i hear the forum is useful
BANS has peaked and their customer service is TERRIBLE these days. I bought BANS back in the infancy stage of BANS 1.0. During the first year the Customer Service was EXCEPTIONAL but lately it really sucks. The current issues are it is full of problems concerning the the EPN switch over of eBay fron CJ. There is also a situation where the eBay database is not fully functioning with BANS which is really crippling the whole thing. So buyer beware.
Hi all I recently bough bans a few days ago and I have to say your first store takes a lot longer than 10 minute to set up, but after you've got used to the process, depending on what kind of store your creating, yes it can be done in 10 minutes. That's the easiest bit of creating the site. But you need to think of your site in terms of those selling their own products in your choosen niche. How much related content do they have? How many back links do they have, how well is their site seo optimised? You need to know these things to gain an edge on your competitiors. It goes without saying add as much relevant content to your site, pick your keywords carefully and promote. So if you were hoping you would be able to install and go, you won't be see it as a tool and build a site with it. You could be surprised at what might happen. I'm really pleased with bans, love their simple interface, because I've only installed bans, I can't tell you I've been making money from it yet, but I know I have so much i need to work on with the sites, that I'm not expecting sucess overnight.
I've used BANS but I find that BayRSS gets much better results and I suspect that bans has been abandoned by it's developers. I would say avoid it at the moment.
I bought Bans when it first came out and made some decent money with it. However, I sold the three sites that I created and more recently have used phpBay with Wordpress. I actually like this way better than Bans. My opinion.
Yes, when you don't use WP it's a great solution! But sure, you'll have to bring the traffic in there.
