BANS -ebay

I bought BANS and installed the basic store on my two sites. I really want to customize my header with a picture or pictures. I received the "templates" that BANS offers. However, none of them are relevant to my sites.

How is the easiest, legal way to create and put one or more pics into the header. I tried sizing a basic picture to the dimensions that BANS suggests, but only stayed on the left hand side of the page and blotted out the page name.

Based on what I have read in these forums, without this customization, I have one ugly site and am pretty much dead in the water for conversions.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

 

you can use photoshop if you have it, expensive to buy or for free you can get gimp, just google it.

make sure that you know your banner size in pixels (its in the manual) it depends on which layout you are using, if you get the banner size wrong it will distort your images.

the bans forum will be able to give you probably more answers on this than this forum so try posting there.

Download Gimp (free) and search for tutorials in Google (also free). See Stock Xchng for free stock images to add to your header. The BANS documentation lists the default sizes for each header (or you can right-click on one and view properties to determine the size).

Bans are easily customizable. I would suggest you make the header simple so that it doesnt draw too much attention. Keep in mind that you want people to get to ebay faster.

 

I personally find making my own Wordpress site easier. Once you have a nice template and process it doesn't take that much longer than a BANS site.

 

I have used bans along with wordpress to create some nice sites. I think i still have the templates. if you have bans and want incorporate it with wordpress let me know.
