Hello everyone, From the testing and watching of my bans store (and comments from other peeps) I recently had my default view set to 'highest price'. This did generate a nice amount of clicks, but it also gave me no sales. To be fair though, most of my traffic is webmaster based, users of bans etc, only a small handfull are actually looking for furniture on the site. My traffic is slowing picking up though from the search engines, and I while clicking the links makes them look at them, it really isn't selling the product. They seem to be just looking at it and leaving. While the cookie is embedded, i would much rather have them buy stuff then just look at stuff!! I am testing out a new theory (well old theory, but new strategy to me) of impulse buying. I am going to order everything by 'ending soonest' and will see how it works out. This may be a little more specific to me since the auctions are based around antique furniture (If i dont get it now, i will never be able to get it etc). Has anyone else had better success with ordering there items by something other then 'highest priced'. What are everyones opinions on these different ordering methods and which have worked the best for you?
Mix and match. If you've only got 1 site, then randomize it, and use "soonest" or "highest" as your SID. Maybe you'll get a better result using one over the other. I've got some of my sites set to ending soonest, and some set to highest priced. To be perfectly honest, I really can't see any major difference. People click on things, and then they buy something totally unrelated ... my sites attract crazy people. ---- "Well, there's your problem!"
Yup Yup... I wish i was getting more traffic to take a better sample of the results. As for you having crazy visitors.... their mental state doesn't matter to me as long as they are buying stuff!!
