How is it better to display your auction listings? Ending Soonest Newly Listed Highest Price First Lowest Price First I have mine displayed to be ending soonest first. But does anyone know if displaying them another way increases conversions?
I think it depends on what you're selling. I have most of my sites set to ending soonest - but any site selling big $ items (such as cars or real estate), I set it to highest priced to get people clicking on sexy cars and crazy houses.
Yep. It's all about dropping the cookie. If some teenage kid clicks on a $200,000 car and then their mum uses the same computer to buy an oven a few hours later... then the commission is ours It's all about getting people to click the auctions and get our cookie - not necessarily about them buying what they click on.
is there something i need to do to put a cookie on their pc or is that automatically done with BANS thanks
It is done when a user clicks a BANS auction link on your site. The cookie in the clickers browser is good for 7 days. That means that if they go back to eBay directly within 7 days and purchase something you will get the commission. Unless of course they click another ebay link on another site which would delete your cookie on their browser for the new one.
7 days? Here I thought it was 30. Oh well. That is exactly how I target my aged furniture site. I just want people to click on it, not so much buy the furniture. (And who doesn't want to look at a $250,000 piece of furniture?)
i will click. Kerosene and drewbe, you guys think it right, it's like dropping a bomb. High price items are a good "trojan" for the ebay cookies, and normally people who clicks in a high priced item, soon or later buy something from ebay. Many times it'll buy in the next minutes/hour
Yup. Now I need to do just do some link building on the site. I want to actually test and see how well it really does when it actually gets traffic. Guess I need to get off my bum, eh?
