Google will ban you if you use sources like revisitors.com and even blogrush. They do not like junk traffic clicking their ads.
Your CTR may not go up since your impressions would go up also, however, that spike in impressions will cause them to look at referers and if they see the traffic coming from a suspicious non-natural source they may act.
True, but I'm under the impression that he already has a userbase which views more than one page/visit impressions would not go up proportionally with clicks
Probably not in a linear proportion, you're right. I suspect it would go up in a logarithmic proportion since bought traffic usually doesn't convert (ie, it's not targeted, despite what the seller might say lol), thus your CTR might actually go down with bought traffic. A lot would depend upon what the amount of traffic is compared to his normal userbase, but any bought traffic is probably going to dilute the clicks.
yeah, but considering that he was asking about it because they "like the ads" i mean, honestly, bought traffic rarely views the site. if they "like the ads" i was viewing it as all of a sudden his CTR skyrockted
Google is working hard to prevent sites using adsense from participating in traffic exchange programs. I don't think they see bought traffic any different.
I guess I was responding to what would really happen rather than his hypothetical, somewhat fairy-tale-like scenario of the visitors liking his ads...unless they were liking it as some part of click-scheme. In that case, it doesn't matter if his CTR goes up or down or stays the same, Google's algos are probably going to catch onto the fact that something smells in Denmark then the OP is going to have some issues to take care of. Bought traffic rarely "views" the site...absolutely right. They go to that site either by accident/trickery, and back away in a hurry (and usually not by clicking an ad) or they go there because they get some incentive to go to that site (a big No-No according to Google) If they go there for an incentive, they are probably only accessing the site to get the reward, which is usually a pageview or two to THEIR site and not at all interested in the site itself, or any ads which might appear on it. In either cases, the traffic quality sucks (which is why it is against TOS) and the OP again will have those aforementioned issues in the form of a "Dear Site Owner, It has come to our attention..." email from Google.
yup, which is why when he said "what if they click cause they like the ads?" i immediately thought of bought traffic paid to click ads.
I would definitely stay away from that if you value your adsense account. Especially from sellers on eBay. The traffic quality is very poor and you will end up hurting yourself a lot more in the long run. If you have to do it make sure that you are not listing that page with your adsense on it. Keep it a page away at all times. So possibly a splash page that opens up in a new window. Remember that is only if you "Have" to use this method.
Most of the traffic being sold on eBay is garbage pop-up impressions. I would not send this type of traffic to an Adsense site.
bought traffic does not click cause they like the ads, they click because they are paid to click instead of ebay, try buying links from respected sites that are relevant to your niche.
no, they will ban you if you buy traffic but you are not allowed to buy traffic from auto traffic sites or programs
they will ban you if they feel like it and there will be nothing you can do. when you have that slight doubt feeling it will get you banned, it will.
