    Friends

I just started serving Banners from CJ on my site. What are your thoughts - what brings the most revenue? Banners or Text Ads?

http://www.articlestonurture.com/ - What do you think what will work for me based on the content I serve?

    Thanks

questions about particular sites should go in the "reviews" forum, I believe.

anyway: my experience is that text ads perform a lot, lot better. but only when used correctly. but images can supplement them. as with any sort of affiliate marketing or conversion tracking, make changes and test the results. then test some more. and some more. :)

I use banners (really big banners, that is) when I'm trying to monetize a page in one of my sites that a bit low on the content side, but 99% of my pages that have advertising use CJ text ads. IMO, most surfers are blind to standard banners these days. Even Internet newbies become blind to standard banner ads in short order, IMO.

A well-placed text ad can do very well on a content-rich page, assuming the traffic is targeted.

I don't think I've made a cent from CJ banners. And it doesn't help that they're all so ugly.

The text links seem to work pretty well - just make them fit in with your site, and try to get your visitors to see that you're helping them by sending them elsewhere.

So majority of you prefer Text Ads considering your conversion rate. Few good pointers I didn't think of - blindness or rather immune to banners. Change in template tonight - lots of work to update this. Thanks people...

I think at the end of the day its about how you use the advertising not what the advertising is. At the end of the day its about choosing which advert publishing method is best for your specific site. As long as there isnt too much advertising and it doesn't over shadow your site design and content its good. The number of new sites (specifically those that come up for review) that are literally just banner adverts and a small amount of text and images begs belief! At the end of the day use sparingly and ensure it is will integrated visually... people don't visit websites to look at banner ads!

Have you considered more targetted ads relating to the content of your site?
