banners as backlinks?

    A few of my clients have my hosting banners on their sites as they are affiliates. do any sort of banners act as a backlink or is there anything that can be done to the banner code to help with back linking.

    sorry im dumb when it comes to seo. also looking for any advice I can get about seo and my website. url in sig.

    For the most part, the banners won't help you get ranked. They will help Google index your site.

    well, the reason I ask is because I have had my site in google webmaster tools for quite a long time and it never shows the top search queries. my site is indexed but I can never find it. dont know if this is because my keywords or what. I just can seem to figure this seo crap out... and my pr is 2 ??
