Hi, When using a banner to link to a site, how do you handle the title tag of the anchor and the alt tag of the banner? Do you use the same words, or is it better to use different combinations? Well, just wondering...
On title you must place your targeted keywords, in Alt tag and content you should not do keyword stuffing, Just make content very unique, rich, quality and fresh containing all keywords you targeted with the combination. Make sure your website is for real humans not for spiders...
Easy. I don't. I ref="nofollow" such links if I do use them (which I don't), but if the banner was an image, I'd use the alt ATTRIBUTE (since there is no tag) to provide a text equivilent of the image, and then use the title ATTRIBUTE to provide a description of the banner image.
I was asking the same question in a very recent thread of my own. Since weight is put on the alt attribute of the image element, but no weight is put on any title attribute, wouldn't it be better to optimise the text of the alt attribute of the image element as if you were optimising the anchor text? The title attribute in the anchor element can than be used to provide supplemental information (tooltip) about the link and is does not need to be optimised.
