I have been using banner connect for the last few months and they have been paying between .18 and .20 eCPM with few problems. Over the last few weeks I noticed that my bounce rate skyrocketed and I started seeing ads that autoredirect my users to other sites or load 10-15 hidden frames with content inside the ad frames (dowloading megs of data.) I don't have a clue how to trouble shoot it being when it happens I can't capture the ad id that is triggering the action (I sit and refresh with firebug and watch the frame actions on the ad tag) because I am launched so quickly to the malware site (and they only offer to block the bad creative if I give them the id, which I can't seem to find.) Anyway, I've gone back and forth with BC for days and they don't seem to have any idea what I am talking about. They said they refreshed my site from Europe and saw no issues (but all of my US traffic -93% of all traffic - is complaining about these ads.) I offered to send them a wireshark http log to show the exact chain of events (being I don't know what internal ad id's they are looking for) but while they were initially ready to help - I have not heard from them in over a day and I am pulling their ads and moving to another network (as I fear 90%+ of my traffic is now being funneled out.) I was wondering if anyone else was having similar issues with BC, being I was happy with them until things started going bad...
If i was you, i would either demand them to sort this issue out or remove their ads from my website and go find another company.
I moved on. They stopped answering emails on the subject and it got to the point that 1 in 5 ads being served were either malware, 0-frames or redirection ads. I am quite sure it is not their direct inventory, but rather the remnants that yield manager is serving - but you would think they would have some control over what creatives were passing in their name. (although I am not familiar enough with the subject to know for sure.) Also, the fact that once they ruled out "bad ads" being served from the Netherlands, they closed the door on further dialog - but it is quite clear these malware devices are geotargeted for juicy US traffic which means you can cycle through the pages all you want offshore and you will not see them unless you have a proxy apparatus in place. Probably how these ads are getting into the system in the first place...
hey bacchus i also had the same problem you had....i was so confued once when i went to my site and it redirected me to either much music or yellow pages.....and sometimes there ads would load a million things.
Yes, there is a yellow pages ad that you'll get redirected to. There is also a free Hawaii vacation one and the ad that loads entire other websites inside it. A virtual assortment of fun.
