    Hi guys,

I want to promote X product with banners, but i really dont know which websites to place my ads in.

Let's say i want to promote a relationship service. Which type of content makes users that are willing to buy my service visit? which topics will give me the best CPM?

Is there any market study or service out there providing this info?

    how to find out?

    Dan

What is your service on earth?Of course you should try to find some hottest website service of which are similar to yours. Then you may get more traffic. What's more,I think only banner ads is not enough. You'd better have your own blog or website and use much more ways to promote it if you really want develop your service in the future.

You should try to run Adwords content network and zoom in on what sites make you the most money, this is easy to tell in their network. The thing is that you'll probably find that 5-10 sites send you the lions share of your traffic, and from there you can approach them to offer to by banner space directly.

Strike up a few deals, and you'll easily break even. The only catch here is you'll probably lose some money upfront experimenting with what sites convert

Banners are no good because it says to the reader that you are trying to sell them, Do a text link ad, then provide open to buy content with a good sales close.

Banners are a good means of making money if you have a lot of traffic to your site and a lot of regular visitors. They know who you are and they know that you aren't just trying to spam them so they'll take a look.

So, start with a blog and then promote your blog. Get the traffic, post the banners, and direct visitors to check them out.

I remember reading on the bbc website that banner ads are the worst form of online advertising. I don't think banners have ever made me want to buy anything.
