Please can somebody explain to me what is meant by banner impressions and is there anyway to monitor this myself if I was advertising on a 3rd party’s website?

I have been offered a deal of $10 per 1000 banner impression but I am sceptical that the traffic from actually clicking on the banner will not be 1000..

    Thanks

a impression is every time your ad shows.you pay by how many times your ad is shown.doesn't matter how many clicks it generates.
$10 is way to high for impressions or very low for clicks.

$10 CPM definitely sounds a little high. Are they hosting the banners? If so, they should have some reporting available, but if you're concerned about it, ask them if you can host the images - and then track through your logs how many times the file (banner) was requested.
