    i think banners are mainlly for traffic but they have some SEO value too.

    A banner exchange can be thought of as a recipricol link exchange. You will give some page rank and get some page rank. I suggest doing the swap with a website that has more page rank than yours.

    It helps in getting some link juice from the site to which we are sharing. It is just like reciprocal links.
