Banner ads making a comeback?

    Now that many search engines, including Google, are cracking down on paid text links, I'm beginning to notice more and more banner ads on sites. This time the ads are much fancier, featuring flash animation and even contextual targeting. Have you guys noticed this trend?

    i havent noticed a trend at all. its too soon to tell if there's a trend.

    I think banner ads will be around forever.

    Simply because there are ads which text ads just don't work, example cars ads?
