Banned question

If a site is banned from Adsense, is that user allowed to reapply with a different website?

I once had a friend buy a site that had gotten banned and Google would not allow ads there, even though he wasn't the one banned. Thus I'm thinking they just ban the site, and not the general person, so I thought I'd ask.

If it wasn't your friend, he should try contacting Google and explaining.

Not sure I understand but I'll give it a try.

If the user was banned then, no, they cannot apply using a different website.

If a website was purchased where the previous owner was banned, you cannot put your ads on that website.

AFAIK Google Adsense bans the publisher, Google Search Engine bans the site. If the site is banned, Adsense will not show up on the site, regardless of the publisher. If the publisher is banned, it doesn't matter what site he puts his ads on, nothing will show up. If you buy a banned site, it is banned because of the SE, so I doubt if you can put ads on it, because to Google that site is persona non grata, so new ownership doesn't matter. You would have to write to Google and appeal their banishment of the site, informing them of new ownership and that the URL is now being used for other reasons besides the previous reason that got it banned in the first place.

Bottom line: I would not associate my publisher ID with a banned site until I can get Google to lift the ban.

The ban was apparently years ago. I really doubt there's a way to get it lifted. The site isn't banned on Google SE though...

What's to stop the banned owner from making a new site and simply having a brother own the Google account?

How exactly do you know Adsense has banned the site? Since as I said, I don't think Adsense bans the site, they just ban the publisher. If whoever you bought the site from told you his site was banned, he might not know what he was talking about.

On your second question: Nothing, except for the fact that sooner or later (usually just as you're about to be paid at the end of the month) they will audit your account, discover similarities to a previously banned account, and ban you again, meaning all that work you did will be for naught. If you're already been banned, I would just bite the bullet and go do something else not involving Adsense.

My friend put ads on the site and they came up white. When asked why, Google said that it had previously been banned. (Adsense, not SE)

That wouldn't make any sense though. If the site is registered to the family member, and the family member has the AdSense account there is really no reason for his removal because he wasn't the one banned.

Seriously, dude, what are the chances that you and your brother will both have an Adsense account? How many people in this world even know what Adsense is? 1%? Less than that? Then add to that the probability that two person from the same household are Internet webmasters with Adsense accounts, and one of them just happens to be banned a few weeks/months BEFORE the other one lands his account. Seriously, fella, they are NOT THAT STUPID.

It's not that uncommon. Generally family members are of the same interest. But alright, thanks for answering the question.

I myself have never used Adsense, I probably should though.
