    Hello fellow webmasters!

I have a reasonably clean and informative website on roofing topic. It does quite well in Google and MSN, but it was performing poorly on yahoo for some reason.

That was when I got it listed with Yahoo search submit basic for 50 bucks in hopes of improving Yahoo traffic, and lifting penalties against the website (there were some penalties in terms of ranking on Yahoo. (cause remains unknown.)

I got the website reviewed by a human and approved this last February.

Then suddenly it falls out of rankings completely and it would no longer show in Yahoo search. All at the same time doing quite well on Google and MSN.

It was also interesting to note that the status of the URL showed as approved and active in the Yahoo SearchSubmitBasic control panel, but it suddenly fell out of Yahoo index.

I emailed Yahoo about ten times and they ignored it. Then, I called in and finally got a hold of somebody who told me that Yahoo engineers will take a look into it.

Two weeks goes by, and My status changes from eligible to ineligible! No emails and No feedback despite the fact that I submitted nearly ten YSSB support tickets. I call in again, and receive email that my website is not in compliance with Yahoo guide lines no specifics are given!

The content of the website and of the page factors have not really changed since February when my website was approved for YSSB.

It is also important to note that there seemed to be a sort of a penalty with Yahoo against my website all along. Before I got the my URL included it would rank for really obscure keyword phrases, and getting listed with YSSB has not improved the situation in any way (So I guess it did not help, a waste of money if you will for me at least)

Anyways, I sent them email asking to close my account and refund the money on a basis of the lack of reasonable customer service i.e ignoring my support tickets!

They responded surprisingly quickly and said sorry they could not satisfy the order and that they will refund the money. (a little positive :) here!!)

They made my URL inactive and stopped the refreshes on June 24th, however the account remained open. I guess once you open a YSSB account there is no way to close it!

Anyways, I emailed submitted general Yahoo re-inclusion request and received a next day response saying that my Website does is not in compliance with Yahoo guide lines no specifics. I wonder if they actually reviewed or simply used the data they obtain and share with YSSB.

Anyways, I know this was a long background info, but I guess my question is what can be not in compliance.

My website is generally clean. No hidden text or anything.
It is very informative, and contains a free directory specific to my industry.

I do have a little bit of ad sense that is off to the side of the main text and it does not get in away.

My website deals with roofing industry and I have added a footer link to a construction directory section of my website. It is pretty much a links page that contains a list of relevant Home related categories and Sustainable construction websites. It also has an Add URL form that requires a recip. link to the links section itself, not the main website. My goal was to develop link section as an additional resource to the website, use it for some good link exchanges here and there and that is about it. I know many websites that have been around for a while have a similar type of add URL link relevant link section, and they do quite well on yahoo.

I welcome all of your ideas, because I want to get my website back into Yahoo.

The email I received says to make changes to the website (I have no idea what changes I should make so it is in compliance) and resubmit the website.

    Thanks for your help.
