How do you know if a member is really Banned or not? I know it says it below their username, but I've read & seen banned members posting on DP because it's some sort of vBulletin bug where the member's not banned, but it still say that they are banned. The reason I'm asking is because I got a bid on a sig link from a member, & it says that he's banned. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/member.php?u=67849 I do presume he's truely banned but just wanna make sure. Is he truely banned? How can we tell if it's real or not? Also if someone's banned, is there any way of knowing why they were banned?
I have never seen a banned member post, and if they have it was before they were banned. Usually admins would not discuss other to people why a member is banned. So the only way is to ask that person. Does the person have some form of instant messaging username in their profile?
I believe that once you're banned, the option for sending a PM is taken off. And even if you could send it, don't think they would be able to view & respond either.
Not a PM, I was asking if maybe they hade a msn messanger or ICQ or something along those lines in their profile .. like I have my MSN Messanger and ICQ in mine.
If they post...they arn't banned, even if they are red. If they log on and don't post...they are probably banned!!!
No, but even if they did, I wouldn't bother to contact them that way as I would need to re-install ICQ again, which I got rid off ages ago. Plus if they were banned, I'd only do business with people on DP that aren't banned. BTW Nintendo, congrats on hitting the 11k posts
You can try and send them a PM since banned members cannot the PM feature. Also, Banned members' signature will not show. --Joe
Yeah I wouldnt do business with a banned member, even more when I dont know the reason of the ban. I keep all instant messaging on my computer so I can communicate with all of my clients no matter what instant messaging they have.
unfortunately that member have just the 17 posts, so he can't have a signature anyway! but then you can always pm him and ask him that he is banned or not!
He was actually bidding on a sig space that I was selling on another forum. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=312174 BTW if any of you are interested, don't hesitate to bid
