For the likes of me, I've always thought that a SE ban meant that you would have simply none of your urls showing up in a SE, while just the homepage listed meant that it was a heavy penalty. I seemed to have read somewhere that this was not the case for yahoo, rather, just the homepage listed was an indication of a ban. I have a website that is about a year old. 4 months ago, all listings were gone from yahoo except for the homepage. Could someone confirm if this was a yahoo ban, or just a penalty of some sort? Thank you
It seems that Yahoo shows only a homepage when a site has been de-indexed. Yes I confirm that is how it is shown.
This happened to one of my sites too, but after about 15 - 20 days the search results became allrite .. Don't know why it happened in the first place!
this thing happened to a site i knew. it was hit by google jagger. it came out of google's index and the links were also gone. but now it's indexed already, yet the links were not showing up. i guess that site was banned.
It has happened to me also. Can't figure out what the problem is. I have written to Yahoo, but got only the standand answer. Anyone know how to write to Yahoo and get a real person to respond?
I think for fun and games the search engines can doll out many different flavors of penalties and bans. If you were doing something that you shouldn't have with the site, then sure it's probably a penalty imposed by the search engine. Whether you say penalty or ban is just a symantical excercise though.
