Banned from Yahoo

Well, it looks like I have a site that if officially banned from Yahoo. When I do the site: command, I only see my home page indexed but I think this is due to my paid listing in Yahoo's directory.

So, has anyone been banned and then listed again in Yahoo? And is there a way to contact them to see what I did wrong?

Is the site new? Could be just not indexed fully yet. How many pages did you have indexed in Y before?

Actually, it had over 1k pages indexed before dropping out. And I don't know why they banned the site. How do you contact them?

Isn't it obvious? Your "Website Trading" site is a link farm. What do you expect?

Not that I am aware of. I use the co-op but I do not think it is b/c of this. The site does use a AWS script but it just focuses on digital camera related stuff.

I just had the same thing happen with MSN. I had just under 1K pages indexed... and then all of a sudden for the last 3 weeks... nothing.

It turned out that somehow we had msnbot disallow in our robots.txt file.
Strange that we were even indexed to begin with.

You might want to check that.

You can't get banned from Yahoo. Are you sure about that? Cause it sure looks like my site is banned.

I'll double check my robots.txt file to make sure I am not doing something wrong.

i have seen sites go from 1000 pages indexed to only a handful.
They generally bounce back again...but it can take 5-6 months...exactly like the google sandbox. How weird is that !!?

are you not seeing yahoo crawling your site at all? or is it simply not indexing the pages?

Yeah that's the funny thing. I check my log files and Yahoo slurp is "slurping" away. Maybe need to wait it out for a few weeks.

This is the first time someone claims to be banned form yahoo. Yahoo is filleed with garbage pages with cloaking and doorways so it seems anything goes in the land of yahoo.

Yahoo has always been a bit strange -- maybe they object to those upper-ASCII characters you're using to try to highlight your pages in the SERPs -- even if not, that little "trick" was cool for about 10 minutes but looks kinda spammy now...

Oh, and you're missing the ";" after &#187 -- should be
