Ok. I got an swer from MSNDude which I replied to and I am still waiting for another reply from him about my sites. It seems that MSN has banned them for being spam sites and the "funny" thing is that ALL sites on the same IP has been banned for "getting a lot of suspicious links and appear to be in an illegitimate link exchange" I know that at least one of my sites have been scraped and have links to my site (most of them rel=nofollow probably) but why should my site suffer from that? There is nothing I can do about it and I sure as hell haven't been in any illegitimate link exchange at all! Not suer what MSNDude meant by that! It seems that if one site on a shared IP gets banned, then ALL SITES GETS BANNED! This is NOT fair and should be fixed by MSN ASAP! I am hosting sites for different people, even my mother-in-law, and her quilting store got banned also! I am sure it is by IP since I have more than one IP and the other ones are not affected. THIS SUXXXX!
How long does it take msndude to reply? I emailed him about 2 days ago, but no reply yet. My sites been MIA for about a year now. Didn't do nothing about it til now cuz Im getting most of my traffic through Google. However, it would be nice to get traffic from as many sources as possible.
... because he has to go through all my followup emails first It took me about a week, but after that he hasn't responded. Tried to send several eails to that web spam email they have but you never hear anything back from them......
is this: "getting a lot of suspicious links and appear to be in an illegitimate link exchange" How can you do anything about that? I KNOW I don't do any illigimate link echange since Ido not do linkexchanges at all and "suspicious link"? WTH is that????? Suspicious sites linking to me?????? This is just rediculous and I guess there will be tons of sites that will be/are banned because of this!!
MSN is trying to re-invent itself as THE anti-spam search engine, but I think they are weeding out alot of good sites in the process.
Mike I think you need to look at exactly where you got your links from. If you have participated in the DP Coop, Link Vault, exchanged links, exchanged 3 way links or bought links then you have violated some kind of MSN link code. If you have done none of these and your site is not an affiliate site then they should let you back in.
Wow, banning and penalizing for poor quality IBL. That seems dangerous to me. Don't like a competitor? Pump some LV or coop into their website and they'll drop in MSN.. Wonder what genious thought up that idea..
Haven't done any of that! Been too lazy to exchange links and if I do a link:domain.com then I only see links from my own sites and a lot of scraped sites with links (probably rel-nofollow) to my site. The only thing I DID do a while back was to remove everything that was spammy in my opinion. Too many keywords in meta tags and other type of stuff but that didn't help. I thought my dropped rankings was because of that until I get the message from MSNDude telling me about the links..... From now on Live.com is Dead.com for me...
Thats your problem and thats why you got banned. The only links you have are scraper links and your own links.
being banned for having scraper links is biggest BS I have ever heard a couple of my sites only have directory links they have been banned too
but that is only for one site. Why ban all of them on the same IP address? One of my sites have hundreds of links from other sources and it is banned also. It like someone in a big family does something and gets jail time for it and because of that, all other family members get jail time too. Aren't you supposed to be "not guilty until proven otherwise"? Who are they? Some type of Nazi Gestapo or what?
why would having a few links from your own sites be a reason for a ban? Also one of my old clients has like 20 sites and he gives himeself run of site links on all the sites to all the other sites He isn't banned in any search engine, those sites are old though I know of a bunch of sites that have a lot of recips ranking fine in MSN but they have no adsense, no affiliate stuff on them
